I have driven this road a couple times and it is really fun. The first time I drove it I was going from Skyline to Huddart Park, I threw out my back on the first hairpin and I’m 19; my back is by no means bad. The road is kind of short but you can take Tunitas Creek road, the road across skyline from it, all the way down to 1 and that road is much the same as King’s mountain. This road is EXTREMELY windy; it has several sharp hairpins that come out of nowhere. Be careful when you drive this road because cyclists do like to ride it and this road is full of one lane sections and blind turns. Also keep an eye open for deer, they aren’t too abundant but they are there. I rated traffic a 4 only because of the number of cyclists there on the weekends, most weekdays you will see no one on the road. Take this road extra easy if you are an inexperienced driver, I gave that advice to a friend of mine and he ended up spinning his car and hitting a dear because he didn’t believe me.
Just drove this road today in a GTI. An absolute blast. Keep an eye out for bikers. And be careful as you can go off if you over serve yourself with confidence.
