Description:
Vasco Rd. has transformed from a winding two-lane road into a thoroughfare for people traveling from Livermore to the Delta areas. The road has been straightened, widened, and repaved… making it a much less fun/difficult drive. This doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s not a straight shot (like I-680 or I-5), but it’s just not as much fun as it once was.

Speed:
For a road with a higher posted speed limit, Vasco Rd. gets a poor speed rating from me. The reason for this is the almost constant paroling by law enforcement… there have been times with almost a half-dozen different ‘speed traps’ setup along the road.

Road Condition:
Recently this road has been repaved making the condition extremely good. Watch out for fog as it can get quite heavy at times (and has been the cause of many head-on accidents in the past).

Traffic:
Weekday traffic during commute times are quite heavy. There are now passing lanes for getting around the slower traffic (and the truckers), which helps a little, but you’ll often find yourself stuck in a long string of cars. Non-commute times the traffic is light.

Accessibility:
Vasco Rd. is a main commute road between Livermore and the Delta area. There are many gas stations and restaurants close to I-580, but once out of Livermore there are no amenities until you reach Brentwood.

Length:
At ~30min this is a decent length driving road, but if you get stuck in slow traffic it will seem much longer.
